Pablo Pinto

Pablo Pinto is currently working as a broker for Fedex in Oporto, in this role he writes the customs declaration for the importation of goods into Germany. His professional interest comprises the application of automation and AI powered tools into the creation of lexicographic ressources and the user’s perception of such resources.

Eka Kiknadze

I am Eka Kiknadze, a graduate of the European Master in Lexicography (EMLex), Lajos Zsarnay’s class of 2022–2024. After completing my studies at the University of Minho in Braga, Portugal, I began working as an English Localisation Tester at Side. In this role, I identify and report linguistic errors, as well as implementation and system bugs in the text and visual elements of computer games. My background in lexicography is significant in reviewing glossaries and style guides, ensuring their accurate and consistent integration into the game’s content. 

During my time in the EMLex program, I developed a strong interest in online dictionaries, computational linguistics, and corpus linguistics. I am now actively expanding my knowledge and seeking opportunities to contribute to projects in these areas.

Akerke Yessenali 

Utal Pandey

Utpal Pandey is currently pursuing his PhD at the University of Texas at Austin. His research interests lie at the intersection of linguistics, digital humanities, and lexicography, specifically in Frame Semantics, Vocabulary Acquisition, and Constructicography.

Adam Rey Agustin

Nach Abschluss meines Master-Studiums in EMLex habe ich zwei bedeutende Rollen übernommen. Im Rahmen meiner Tätigkeit als Goodwill Ambassador für Deutschland auf den Philippinen besuche ich PASCH- und BKD-Schulen und halte Career Talks für junge philippinische Deutschlernende, um den kulturellen Austausch zu fördern und die Schüler:innen in ihrer beruflichen Orientierung zu unterstützen. Zudem bin ich als Honorarlehrkraft am Goethe-Institut Philippinen tätig, wo ich Deutsch unterrichte und zur Durchführung von lexikographischen Lernzielen beitrage. Gegenwärtig fokussiere ich meine Forschung auf die Verbindung von Lexikographie und DaF-Unterricht im Kontext der philippinischen Deutschlernenden.

U-Tong Sih

Zum allerersten gilt es, mich für die Gelegenheit zu bedanken, Teil der EMLex-Familie sein zu dürfen. Mithilfe der finanziellen Unterstützungen habe ich zusammen mit Mitstudierenden aus ganzer Welt wesentliche Kenntnisse über die Lexikografie erworben. Da dieses Fach an den Universitäten meiner Heimat nicht angeboten wird, war das Erlebnis durchaus einzigartig. Lexikografie ist ein höchstumfassendes Studienfach, weshalb man sich nicht nur sprachliche Kenntnisse, sondern auch relevante Fertigkeiten anzueignen soll. Dadurch entsteht auch die Möglichkeit, kreativ zu sein und über eigene Berufsperspektive nachzudenken. Nicht zuletzt ist allen EMLex-Lehrenden zu verdanken, die sich bemühen, uns in die faszinierende Welt der Lexikografie einzuführen und andererseits sicher zu stellen, dass wir zwei unvergessliche Jahre möglichst mit Erfolg absolvieren. Diese prächtige Erfahrung kann ich jeden aus tiefstem Herzen empfehlen.

首先得感謝能有這個機會，得以成為 EMLex 家族的一份子。在獎學金的資助下，我與來自世界各地的同學們，一同學習著辭書學的知識。由於在台灣無法在大學修習相關課程，這個碩士課程所帶來的經驗，也因此更加難能可貴。辭書學是個範圍廣闊的學科，必須學習的不僅語言知識，更包含了相關技能。每個人也如此得以發揮各式創意，並對未來職涯出路做出最適合的考量。最後也要感謝 EMLex 的所有老師們，他們盡一切努力帶領我們入門辭書學的迷人世界，同時也確保著我們能夠順利度過兩年難忘的時間。這樣美好的經驗，我打從內心推薦給每位申請者。 (薛宇桐)

Adam Kirchner

After earning his degree with EMLex, Adam spent over a year working as a freelance lexicographer at DWDS in Berlin. He then began a PhD in Transcultural German Studies at the University of Arizona and Universität Leipzig. Since transitioning to industry, he has been working full-time as an English translator and contributing to the AI development team at PINKTUM, an EdTech company based in Hamburg.

Luke Akinremi

Luke has been the EMJM EMLex Programme Manager since February 2024, working under the Mundus 3 framework coordinated by the University of Santiago de Compostela. In this role, he's involved in everything from managing day-to-day operations and coordinating internal and external communications to helping organise Consortium activities and serving on key committees.
What Luke enjoys most about his job is the people: he thrives on the opportunity to collaborate with students, academic directors, and institutional partners from across the globe.
Alongside his work, Luke is also pursuing a PhD in linguistics at the University of Santiago de Compostela, where he's focusing on bilingual lexicography. His academic interests range from semantics and corpus linguistics to the Yoruba language and translation.

Ketivani Tchigladze

Since February 2023, Keti has been working at the Service for Accounting, Reporting, and Auditing Supervision (SARAS) of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia. To her tasks belong working on financial and auditing terminology to refine and enrich the English-Georgian Online Terminological Dictionary of International Financial Reporting and Auditing Standards, as well as editing and translating (English-Georgian/Georgian-English) regulatory documents, draft laws, and guidelines published on behalf of SARAS. Keti has also been working at the Centre for Lexicography and Language Technologies of Ilia State University as a research assistant participating in the projects “English-Georgian Parallel Corpus” and “Terminology without Borders” since January 2023. 

Ivan Arias Arias

Ivan currently holds a PhD position at the University of Santiago de Compostela. His PhD supervisor is our EMLex director Prof. Dr. María José Domínguez (Humboldt Research Group) and his topic is “Design and development of a (semi)automatic semantic annotation system for German-language corpora”. Furthermore, Ivan is a member of the International PhD Network (IPN) of the Leibniz Institute for German Language. His research interests are in semantics, syntax and digital linguistics (computational linguistics/corpus linguistics).

Margarida Castro

Margarida Castro is currently living in Geneva, Switzerland, where she is working as a terminologist. As a fellow at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Margarida helps enrich WIPO Pearl, WIPO’s terminological database, by contributing with language blocks in her native language, Portuguese.

Annalena Hütsch

is now Dr Annalena Hütsch. She has successfully concluded her doctorate at the FNS/Université de Neuchâtel, Switzerland after her defence on 31.03.2020. Her dissertation is published under the French title “L’usage des verbes modaux en français et en allemand. Etude contrastive de la combinatoire adverbiale sous l’éclairage quantitatif”, or English “The use of modal verbs in French and German. A contrastive analysis with a quantitative insight into adverbial combinatorics” were published. As of October 2019, she works as a linguist for the software company Proxem (Dassault Systèmes) in Paris, which also employs our alumni Candice Delaite from the pioneer cohort as a project manager.

Elodie Jactel

is a contract teacher in information science at secondary schools in Réhon (France, since 2013).
