EMLex Promotion Carnation Revolution
On the 24th of April, the Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani Class, currently doing their mobility at the University of Minho in Braga, learned about and celebrated one of the most important historic events of modern Portuguese history, the Carnation Revolution (a Revolução dos Cravos, die Nelkenrevolution) that took place on the 25th of April 1974 in Portugal. This historic event that led to the collapse of a 40 year dictatorship paved the way to a democratic Portugal. The students listened to the Portuguese song 'Grândola Vila Morena', composed by José (Zeca) Afonso, an iconic symbol of the Carnation Revolution and its values FREEDOM, FRATERNITY and EQUALITY.
